As roasting facility, we are the connection link between the coffee farmer and the final consumer. We want to fulfil this consequential responsibility.
Our main approach is the production of high quality coffee, which was cultivated under socially fair conditions. For this reason we are not selecting our green coffes based on labels (Fair Trade, Organic, etc.), rather in accordance to specific criteria.
Since the quality is of utmost importance, we willingly pay more; in fact, the average cost of the green coffee we purchase is even higher than the Fair Trade-certified coffee. As a result, we are able to provide you with detailed information about our coffee, for example: the variety, the country and growing area, the exact harvest from which it was derived, as well as the property owner. We also ensure that harvesters are provided with fair payment and good labour conditions, and that our trading partners employ standards of ecological awareness.
Each month we test many different coffees, but only a few make it into our assortment. We only buy fresh green coffee beans, which is why our product lines are seasonal. Each coffee brand is single roasted and packed instantly after roasting.
After crude oil, coffee is the second most traded export article of the world! Such a large amount brings along with it a great responsibility. Cultivation methods, ecology, fair working conditions in the country of origin, transportation, and sustainability - all these questions have been neglected throughout the past decades – also at the expense of the quality in your cup.
